Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Neil Mandelberg moved to Los Angeles, California 2 days after graduating with a degree in Communication Arts. His first job in the industry was at a trailer house where he spent time with the editors whenever possible. He has worked as a sound editor, sound supervisor, assistant picture editor, picture editor, and producer of Post Production. He was invited to join the fraternal group for editors, American Cinema Editors, in 1989. He was awarded 2 Emmy Awards for editing on the ABC series "Moonlighting", plus a nomination for an Emmy Award for his work on the miniseries "The Temptations" for NBC. His work includes numerous Television series, Movies of the Week and Feature Films including "Coach Carter", "Alvin and the Chipmunks, a documentary that takes place in Iraq in 2004 titled "The Road To Fallujah", and "White Irish Drinkers", directed by John Gray, which won awards at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival and was released in theaters in March, 2011. Neil has been working on a feature film for Director Stephen Gyllenhaal, titled "Grassroots", shot in Seattle, WA in 2010. The film is in final Post Production and is expected to premiere in late 2011.
