Michi is an AACTA nominated film maker, she has been working in the film industry for the past twenty-seven years. She has worked both in Australia and internationally on large budget feature films, television dramas as well as on commercials. She has shot several documentaries in locations as diverse as central NSW and the Middle East. She directed and shot Third Time Lucky, an autobiographical documentary about cancer, which was distributed by Australia Network. Between 1990-94, she studied Fine Arts at the National Art School, majoring in photography. In 2011 Michi completed a Graduate Diploma in Cinematography at the Australian Film and Television School. In 2012 she continued studying and completed a Certificate in Sceen Culture. Since completing her Cinematography course Michi has continued to shoot a variety of projects such as short films, corporate work as well as develop her own projects. Michi has completed the first series of an animation documentary series, Woven Threads -stories from afar which she created, directed, designed and produced with Paul Sullivan from Benchmark Media and Entertainment. This series is (2018)now showing on iview and a second series Woven Threads -stories from within on Mental Health (2020) is currently in development and the early stages of production. In 2020 Woven Threads - stories from within was installed at the Powerhouse Museum on permanent display. In 2019 the series was nominated for an AACTA award and in 2016 and 2017 two different episode of Woven Threads premiered at TEDx Sydney. Michi is a passionate filmmaker and enjoys being involved in the creation and vision of projects.
