Handsome Norwegian character actor, born with acting in his blood as son of the Norwegian actress Aud Egede-Nissen, (later Aud Richter) and the German actor Georg Alexander (1888-1945). Also grandson of the German stage actor Georg Luddeckens, and nephew of six actors/actresses from the Egede-Nissen family! Showed great interest for the acting profession from early age on, and got his education for the stage in America. Stage debut at Søilen Theatre in Oslo 1938, the year after he got a leading role in the film: "De Vergeløse" ("The Defenceless") as the adolescent Albert, a great debut. During the war he joined the Norwegian military forces in Sweden, when the war ended in spring 1945,he continued his acting career in both films and on the stage. At his best in comedy, but also very good appearances in the plays of: Brecht: "The Threepenny Opera" (as Mackie) and Ionesco: "Rhinocèros" (as Bèrenger). His film work included melodramas and comedies, like the chief of police in two films in the "Olsen-Banden" series. Richter died at the age of 56 in May 1972.
