David Roach is a graduate of Australia's National Art School. His recent credits as writer/director include "Red Obsession" narrated by Russell Crowe. Official selection for major festivals including Berlin, Tribeca, Seattle, Hong Kong, Sydney and Melbourne. Awards include: 2014 AACTA Award Best Direction and Best Feature Documentary. AWGIE (Australian Writers' Guild Award) for best Screenplay. Onevideo Award Best Feature Film (France). David wrote and co-produced the multi-award winning WWI feature, "Beneath Hill 60". The Spectator named it, "One of the greatest Australian films ever made." Sir Peter Jackson called it, "The best WWI film since Peter Weir's Gallipoli." Awards include Best Screenplay from the Film Critic's Circle of Australia, Best Film, Best Director, Best Male Lead, Savannah International Film Festival and The Sloan Foundation Prize for Best Feature at the Hamptons International Film Festival. David wrote and co-produced the critically acclaimed BBC documentary about controversial philosopher, Peter Singer, "Singer, A Dangerous Mind". Past feature film credits as writer/producer include two Warner Bros movies, "Young Einstein" & "Reckless Kelly" and "Mr Accident" for MGM/UA. In 2013 he was script/story consultant on "Drift" starring Sam Worthington. David lives on the coast just south of Sydney, Australia with his wife, journalist, broadcaster and film producer, Caroline Baum.
