Jenny Roussea was born in 1933, in Zakynthos, Greece, and studied at the Drama School of the National Theater of Greece. She made her professional stage debut in a 1956 Athens production of "The Diary of Anne Frank". She collaborated with many groups, before making a real sensation in 1964, when she appeared as Mascha in Checkhov's "Three Sisters". For many years she was the leading lady of Kostas Moussouris' stage group, appearing in Noel Coward's "Blithe Spirit" (as Elvira), Tennessee Williams' "Summer and Smoke" (as Alma), Jacques Deval's "Tovarich" etc. She made her movie debut in 1949, but approached screen stardom in the mid-sixties in a series of melodramas and comedies.
