Stephen Salmon grew up in a lower-class neighborhood in south London, England when at age 14, he landed the acting role as Kenny in the science fiction series "The Tomorrow People" when the leader of a local youth group recommended him to series creator and producer Rodger Price whom was scouting unknown talent for the new TV series. In preparation for his acting debut, Salmon attended children's workshop acting classes at Thames studios where he lived nearby. After appearing in one season, Salmon left the series due to creative differences between him and the rest of the cast and crew. He did not return to acting and instead, after graduating from high school, entered college and later became and electrical engineer.
