Nora Salisbury

Actress
Date of birth : 03/12/1964
City of birth : Culver City, California, USA

Nora Kathleen Salisbury was born March 12, 1964 at Baldwin Hills Hospital, in the section of Culver City, California known today as Fox Hills to Larry William and Norma Lee Salisbury. Abused and stifled in her dream of becoming a Disney animator, she nonetheless managed to develop her artistic and performing skills in the Culver school system, then on her own in the amateur costuming/makeup circles at Science Fiction conventions across the country. Tough times forced her to drop out of the Sci-Fi circuit, but not until after she had made her mark there; not only did she win many awards at convention costume contests with her "V" and Freddy Krueger re-creations, she became friends with Robert Englund, who showed pics of her work around the set and got her involved with a special premiere screening of _Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge, A_, where she was photographed for the 50th issue of Fangoria Magazine. Her association with Fangoria did not end there, the next year she was featured extensively on the videotape companion of Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors (1986). While working as a zombie extra in the video for the Twisted Sister/Alice Cooper song "Be Chrool to Your Scuel," she met Tom Savini, who told her she was good enough at makeup to take 'Dick Smith's' course. This was a great honor to hear, but unfortunately poverty once again kept her from a promising career. In 1988, she wiped the floor with all comers during a two-day run on Classic Concentration, winning two trips and a car. Most years now, Nora can be found haunting one of Southern California's Halloween attractions during October. She spent 4 years at Six Flags Magic Mountain's Fright Fest, scaring some folks so badly she was actually struck by two whose reflexes got the better of them. Nora is still an artist and writer, contributing to many websites built by her partner, including The Ghostbusters Fan Forum, The Official Mary Kay Bergman Memorial, The official Tara Strong, The Official Sam Melville Homepage, and Doreen & Nora's Frasier (1993) Homepage, among others. She also writes song parodies, and hopes to someday start a parody band to give 'Weird Al Yankovic' a run for his money.
