Laurent Schwaar was born in France, outside Paris. While working on a maitrise of geology at Pierre & Marie Curie University, he started taking acting classes at the Cours Florent. His science degree completed, he decided to travel for a couple of years, and worked as a tour leader for Club Med. Back in Paris, he took the decision to move to NY and pursue acting. Introduced to Israel Horovitz, he was cast by the NY playwright as Matthias, in a new short play " A funny French husband" Which premiered at the Workhouse Theatre, as part of the benefit show "In 10 cities". After a few years in NY , and having been in a few projects, he moved to Los Angeles. Over the years, he has worked with such directors as Raul Ruiz, Steven Soderbergh, John Schlesinger, and James Ivory, among others. He has also worked as a storyboard artist , for feature films and music videos. He is based in Los Angeles.
