Born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, Tony J. Perri recognized his love of film at a very early age. Being born into a hard working and industrious household, his dreams of becoming what he enjoyed most, would have to be put on hold. After years of working for his fathers highly regarded and Arizona famed construction company, "Perri Development", building Arizona mainstays, Tony attended Al Collins Graphic Design School in Tempe, Arizona, where he received an A.A. in Graphic Design. Working on posters, flyers and general entertainment concepts only fueled his desire to pursue his childhood dream, so he up and moved to Los Angeles to be what he always wanted for himself: a filmmaker. After landing in Los Angeles, he took an assistant position in the Wardrobe department on a film, where he found himself deep in the very world he longed for. Tony stayed in Costumes, quickly working his way to supervising and designing films, music videos and commercials, working with actors such as Jon Voight and Keifer Sutherland. While working on such films as, "Gone in Sixty Seconds", Tony began to hone his focus on writing. Working wardrobe on shows like "Boston Public" gave him on the job training offered to so few who share his career goals. After years of on-set work for television and films alike, Tony decided to make his soul purpose filmmaking. This new dedication to seeking out his true calling caused him to cross paths with Sheldon Strickland. This meeting cultivated in the writing of six screenplays (two of which are award winners), completing a Documentary, "Beauty Before Age", completing an award-winning Feature Film, "They Would Love You In France", and a controversial Short Film, "JOB 7:10". Tony's career is now on track and in the direction unimagined. Grateful for his past success, he looks forward to future endeavors with his business partner and production company, "Vertical Turtle Films".
