Mark Ram started his career as a young actor on Dutch television in the 1990s with the television series The Partisans. The series was awarded a Golden Calf for best television drama. In the same period he also appeared as one of the main characters in the Dutch television series Unit 13. The series ran for three seasons. In 2000 he joined the Dutch National Theatre as an actor. He played in Tartuffe (Moliere), Dealer's Choice (Patrick Marber) and House & Garden (Alan Aykbourn). In 2004 he founded the actor studio Studio Act2act in Amsterdam, which has 400 students every year. In 2012 he directed his debut with the movie Balance (De Balans). The movie was the Dutch submission for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for Best Live Action Short Film (Dutch submission for the Oscar's). The short movie won several prices. In 2013 he went back to the stage with the theatreplay Liefde Levenslang, a play based on the movie Il ya longtemps que je t'aime and starred in several Dutch movies.
