David Logan Rankin was born in Houston, Texas, September 14th, 1961. David began his acting career in 1974 at Studio 7 in Houston, under the direction of Chris Wilson. As a teenager, he studied and performed at The Humphrey's School, associated with Theater Under the Stars, performing and studying there until 1980, when he moved to New York City to study at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, graduating in 1982. Mr Rankin has performed with the Alley Theater, The Urban Theatre Company, was Co-Artistic Director and a performer with The Chamber Repertory, performing many productions under the auspices of DiverseWorks, Inc. In New York, David was a mainstay of The Shakespeare Project, performing many roles with the company until he became Managing Director of the company for the last two seasons. Mr Rankin was also Artist-in-Residence at Mabou Mines/PS122 Artist Suite, where he developed & performed his original play, "Mister Nameless Returns - An Epic Theatre Piece in Three Movements with a Prelude and an Aftermath". Also in NYC, David has performed with Raw Theatre Space, Intar53, The Hypothetical Theatre Company and The Metropolitan Theater. His film credits include "The Doll", directed by Shal Ngo, "Brute", directed by Bonnie Black and "Saint Janet", directed by Habib Azar. Mr. Rankin continues to perform in theater and film, having based himself in New York City since his return in 1996.
