Producer-director-actor-screenwriter Gary Theroux specializes in directing creative teams through the conception, development, scripting, production, posting and imaging of entertainment properties carefully crafted for maximum appeal to predetermined target demos. He's an Emmy nominated and multiple Billboard, Telly, Golden Reel, Communicator and New York Festivals' award-winner for clients ranging from Disney to PBS. Among his broadcast productions: the three-hour "Legends of Comedy," the ten-hour "100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time" and the 52-hour "History of Rock 'n' Roll." Over his 20 years as Reader's Digest's Music & Entertainment Editor, Gary directed the production of more than 300 home video and CD box sets (including the multi-platinum "Christmas Through The Years') with total worldwide sales topping 39 million copies. A longtime radio programmer, DJ, entertainment historian, UCLA instructor and author of multiple books, Theroux hosts the internationally syndicated 2 ½ minute daily feature version of "The History of Rock 'n' Roll." His just completed comedy-fantasy-adventure screenplay "The Knight Before Christmas" was one of ten finalists in the New York International Screenplay competition, placing it among the top 1% of screenplays submitted. Theroux is about three-quarters of the way through "Even Now," a deeply romantic period college love story. Gary is a versatile, multi-voiced character actor and expert on 20th century hit music.
