Born in April 1968. Grew up in Hamburg, Germany. Learned to play several instruments while growing up, including Cello, Guitar and saxophone. He played in a school rock band called Cy Shem. They won the oxmox band contest. He founded the comedic acoustic + A capella band Norbert und die Feiglinge together with Norbert Bohnsack, Hummi Hachmann and Peter Bohl. He started an apprenticeship in 1989 to become a mechnanic for measurement techniques. The first single of Norbert und die Feiglinge "Manta" was their breakthrough, hit the German charts at number 7 in 1999 and sold 150,000 copies in Germany. The band made a few albums and played several years with different lineups. They played their last concert together on December 25 1999 in Hamburg, then they split up. In 1999 Fred worked on the soundtrack of Käpt'n Blaubär - Der Film (1999). Fred made his first solo album in 2002.
