Liv Ullmann is a Norwegian actress, director, and writer, regarded as one of Europe’s most influential figures in cinema and theatre. She began on stage in Norway during the 1950s before gaining international acclaim through her collaborations with Ingmar Bergman. Her work earned her two Academy Award nominations, a Golden Globe win, multiple critics’ awards, and in 2022 an Honorary Academy Award. Ullmann also directed films that competed at major festivals, including Cannes. Beyond acting and directing, she has published autobiographies, served as jury president at Berlin, Cannes, and Moscow, and was decorated with Norway’s Order of St. Olav. She is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
