Maya Vaptzarova

Maya Borisova Vaptzarova was born on July 7, 1944 in Bansko, Bulgaria. She studied psychology at the "New York from University" in 1967. She graduated in "film directing" in the class of Istvan Szabo in Budapest, Hungary (1969). She has directed the films "False Stories" (1977) and "Measure of Remand" (1983), and is an author of over 50 documentaries films. She is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Filmmakers. She received the Order "Cyril and Methodius". She is a niece of the poet Nikola Vaptzarov.
