Luiz Villaça has a long career in cinema, TV and theater. In cinema, he wrote and directed the feature films Por trás do pano (1999), Cristina quer casar (Fox 2003) and O Contador de Histórias (Warner 2009). His films won various national and international awards, such as Best Film in the Gramado Film Festival popular jury, Best Actress in the Habana Film Festival, Grande Prêmio Brasil and International Amnesty Award, among others. In 2016 he released, De onde eu te vejo, produced by BossaNovaFilms, Globo Filmes and Warner. He created and directed many TV programs for TV GLOBO, such as Retrato Falado, Copas de Mel, Dias de Glória, Te Quiero America, Norma and A Mulher do Prefeito, a series that was nominated for the International Emmy Awards 2014. In 2013 and 2014, he created and directed two seasons of the series 3 Teresas for GNT. In 2015, he created and directed the series Vizinhos, for GNT. In his theater career, he has recently directed the play Sem Pensar, by Anya Reiss (2011) and Arthur Miller's The ride down Mt. Morgan (2013). He also produced A Alma Boa de Setsuan (2009) and Galileu Galilei (2015), both by Bertold Brecht.
