During his fellowship at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Marcus was handpicked to be Ron Howard's intern on "The Paper." Getting to study the esteemed filmmaker every day on set was an incredible experience that stoked Marcus' own aspirations to direct. But first Marcus established himself as an award-winning editor, cutting for advertising agencies, cable networks, independent filmmakers and the fashion industry. His multi-screen video installations for Calvin Klein were seen in boutique stores worldwide. During this time he also pitched a show to Fox TV. This pitch went on to become a half-hour pilot - "Wake Up America" - written by Dennis Klein (The Larry Sanders Show) and produced by Broadway Video (Conan, SNL). Marcus then wrote and directed "Freakshow," an award-winning short film starring Alice Cooper. It played in film festivals and Halloween-themed venues across the country. The success of "Freakshow" led to a writing and directing career at Nickelodeon. While there, Marcus' short-form content won several Promax/BDA awards and had viewers in the millions. Once in LA, Marcus entered the DGA, directing episodic TV while continuing his career in short form: promos, commercials, digital content and music videos. His clients include adidas, Ogilvy Bejiing, Disney Channel, 20th Century Fox, Dreamworks, Paramount Pictures, MindShare, Stun Creative, Sprout, Jordan Brand, Ubisoft, BOND, Microsoft, g-NET, Crackle, WalMart, Amazon Studios, 44 Blue, FLEX Creative and Pilgrim Studios. Through these client projects Marcus has gotten to work with Oscar nominees, pro athletes, pop stars as well as the much-feared niche of kids and animals. In addition to his client work Marcus also writes and develops his own projects for film, TV and digital platforms.
