Fatima Washington

Fatima Washington is a multi-talented filmmaker who began her professional career directing music videos for record labels while pursuing a graduate film degree at USC's School of Cinematic Arts. Driven by a desire to depict female protagonists finding their destiny, Ms. Washington co-wrote, co-directed, produced, and acted in her feature film debut "She's Got A Plan". Veteran actor Paula Jai Parker co-starred and features Washington's dream cast: Charles Malik Whitefield, Golden Brooks, Chris Williams, Kelitta Smith, Tsai Chin, and Faizon Love. Legendary actress Ja'net Dubois (Good Times) made her last screen performance gracing the film in the role of Betty Angelo, the mother of the protagonist played by Washington and often the voice of reason. Washington is also known for producing and directing unscripted programs. She joined the producing teams for docu-series series American Gangster: Trap Queens (BET +) and Voices of Fire (Netflix). Voices of Fire was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Reality Program in 2021. Ms. Washington resides in Los Angeles.
