Cynthia Strother was the oldest of the Bell Sisters (the act used their mother's maiden name), a singing group in the early 1950s. Cynthia and her sister, Kay, had several radio and jukebox hits for RCA, their most popular being "Bermuda" (which Cynthia wrote) and which reached #7 on the Billboard charts in early 1952. "Bermuda" sold over one million copies. The Bell Sisters also reached #10 with "Wheel of Fortune," #19 with "Hambone" (recorded with Phil Harris) and #26 with "Rutza Rutza." The Bell Sisters appeared around the country live and on radio and television with Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Dinah Shore, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra. They also did two tours of Korea with the USO.
