Raised in the UK, Elizabeth Wood studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and then the New York University Graduate Film School and spent 6 years in the US as a freelance director at WNET and WGBH. She went on to lecture in film at the Visual Arts Centre, Harvard University. Returning to the UK she formed her own production company Woodfilm Productions and since 1994 she has taught in the UK at the National Film and Television School and the Royal College of Art. Most recently she is the founding director of DocHouse, an organization formed to support and promote documentary in the UK.
