Mihail Meltev graduated in Film and TV Directing from National Academy for Theatre and Fil Art, Sofia in 1980. Until 1991 he worked for Boyana Film Studios, between 1992 and 1999 was a lecturer at the Southwestern University in Blagoevgrad; From 1993 to 1994 he was executive director of the Bulgarian National Television. He has directed TV dramas, fiction films and the documentaries Two Tuesdays in the Kremikovtsi Steel Works (1978); With Passion (1986); People of the Sakar (1986); After the Meeting (1987); Dialogue (1987); Mr. Gladstone and the Bulgarians (2010), To the Left of the London-Calcutta Highway (2011). Author of the book "Television Producer". He was a Chairman of the Union of The Bulgarian Filmmakers. Meltev is a professor in New Bulgarian University.
