A member of the Writers Guild of America, west, John Albo received his Masters Degree in screenplay writing and film studies at Columbia University. He also studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and directing at the Film Industry Workshops. Albo received critical praise for Mortis, a short film he wrote, produced, directed, and edited. The film proved commercially popular for over three years among teenage and college audiences in the twenty largest cities across the nation. Andrew Sarris, the well-known New York film critic, found Mortis to be an "extraordinary and brilliant film." Albo's success with Mortis won him a grant from Warner Brothers to produce, write, and direct an imaginative short film called 33-1/3 Groove. His first feature film, Flexing with Monty, which he wrote and directed, will be distributed in 2010. Albo is also Danny De Vito's partner in The Blood Factory, a horror anthology series, for which Albo has written fifty scripts: cutting-edge tales of horror, mystery, and suspense. Fourteen of those screenplays have been filmed: Shade of Sin, Rough Trade, Tattoo, Raw, Avenging Angel, Gargoyle, The Dummy, Burst, Sister Hate, Listen to Me, Oh, Those Lips, The Evil Eye, Poison Tongue, Deadly Friend.
