Glenn began his journey in the communication arts at the young age of 6 when he began taking drum lessons. in 1959 at the age of 8, he played his first solo performance with the Mt. Calvary Elementary School band at Suitland High School with members of the US Air Force Band Pipe & Drum Corps. Thus began what is up to now, 50 years of music, stage, film and video work. In 1960, Glenn first appeared with his father, Master Chief Musician Dr. Frank Scimonelli, US Navy Band retired, at the New England Music Camp under the direction of Dr. Paul Wiggin. He went on to perform with his father for 36 years soloing with High School, University, Military and community bands across America. Also in 1960, Glenn began a stage performance career when he appeared as a Newsboy in the American Light Opera Company's production of Gypsy. He then went on to appear with ALOC in Annie Get Your Gun and Carousel. Later in the 60's, Glenn performed with the Mount Vernon Players in the production of All the Way Home. In 1964, Glenn was asked to performed with the famed Arena Stage in Washington DC in the productions of Galileo, The Wall, and Bill Budd. In 1965, Glenn was asked to co-star in the Off-Broadway production of Herbert Lieberman's play Matty, the Moron, and the Madonna directed by Jose Quintero. Other stage luminaries in the play were, Betty Miller, Felice Orlandi, and Miriam Colon. After closing in Matty, Glenn went on to co-star in the short lived play Minor Miracle written by Al Morgan. In 1966 Glenn was asked to appear in the movie The Tree, written and directed by Robert Guenette. Later in 1969, Glenn returned to Arena Stage in the productions of Marat/Sade and Indians. In 1970, Glenn joined the US Air Force Band as a percussionist with the Ceremonial band. Later, Glenn was a member of the Diplomats combo performing for dozens of high level dignitaries around the world. While in the service, Glenn completed his undergraduate degree in Arts and Humanities from the University of Maryland in 1973. After completing his service in 1974, Glenn went on to play in and form several bands around the Washington area including, Leo, Gallery, Music Magic, and Touch. In 1980 he formed the band Street Life and still performs with them after 32 years. In 1983, Glenn received is Masters degree in Communication from University of Maryland. While engaged in his post graduate courses, Glenn began working the communication field first as a video production assistant, then later as an assistant director and eventually a producer/director. Glenn has held positions with The Discovery Channel, ASCD, Howard County Public School System and since 1996 has been a Senior Producer/Director with the US Food and Drug Administration.
