Andie Haas

Andie Haas Hubbell is a five-time Emmy Award winning Producer, Director, and Writer. Her historical documentary on the control of human reproduction, The Roots of Roe, was broadcast nationally on PBS. It featured co-narrators Ellen Burstyn and James Whitmore and the voice-over talents of Sharon Stone, Brooke Shields, Drew Barrymore, Katharine Hepburn, Jason Robards, Peter Coyote, Joanne Woodward, Margaret Avery, and Ann Archer. Andie's other light-hearted documentary topics have included globalization (Global Village or Global Pillage?), racial segregation (Schools in Black and White), and homelessness (The Street Is My Home). In 2001, Film Fest New Haven and the Connecticut Film Commission selected her as "The Connecticut Filmmaker of the Year." In his letter of congratulations, Connecticut governor John G. Roland wrote that her work "makes us think, laugh, cry, and in a real sense, help us all become better citizens." (Former governor Rowland currently resides at the Federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut.) Andie co-owns Captured Time Productions, a documentary production company with her husband Harvey Hubbell V. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has taught at Yale University.
