Dean Zanuck has been a driving force in the entertainment industry for over twenty-five years and represents the third generation of one of Hollywood's most illustrious film families. His grandfather was the legendary Darryl F. Zanuck, Co-Founder and Chairman of 20th Century Fox, and his father was the Oscar-winning Producer, Richard D. Zanuck. Leading The Zanuck Company into the new millennium, Zanuck has developed and produced a host of memorable and commercially successful feature films. He served as a Production Executive on Warner Bros' True Crime, directed by and starring Clint Eastwood. He again served as an Executive on Paramount Pictures' Rules of Engagement, starring Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L. Jackson. Over the next decade, Zanuck oversaw development and production on such blockbusters as DreamWorks' Academy Award-winning Road to Perdition, directed by Sam Mendes, starring Tom Hanks and Paul Newman, DreamWorks' Deep Impact, 20th Century Fox's Planet of the Apes, Columbia Pictures' Big Fish, Warner Bros' Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Walt Disney Pictures' mega-hit, Alice in Wonderland, directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp. After nine years as Head of Development and Production for The Zanuck Company, Zanuck expanded the company, adding two new divisions: Zanuck Independent and Zanuck Family Entertainment. Zanuck Independent produced the Award-winning comedy/drama, Get Low, starring Bill Murray, Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek, the sci-fi fantasy The Zero Theorem, directed by Terry Gilliam, starring Christoph Waltz, Matt Damon, and Tilda Swinton, and the supernatural thriller, Voice From The Stone, starring Marton Csokas and Emelia Clarke. Next up is the WWII romantic drama, The Man Who Saved Paris, starring Stanley Tucci and Kristin Scott Thomas. In addition to overseeing Zanuck Independent, Zanuck is producing a slate of films and multi-platform properties for Zanuck Family Entertainment. The first to go into production was Little Ludwig, a 3D animated rock opera being produced with Johnny Depp's Infinitum Nihil and Warner Bros' Pictures. Also on the slate is The Rise and Fall of Arbogast J. Hogg, an innovative multi-platform venture encompassing movies, books, apps, and other digitally integrated products.
