Mark Joseph ( a.k.a. Farkhad Yusufov ) was born on 10 May 1956, in the USSR, in Moscow. Grew up in the city Baku. Graduated, as a pianist, at the special music school, trained two years for the fine arts, and then joined the department of acting. As a student, has been cast for several movies to main roles, and, in particular has played a leading role in epic motion picture "Legend about Siavush" base on poem by Ferdowsi and directed by Bension Kimyagarov. In 1976 he has became a student of VGIK (All Union Cinema University), at the department of Feature film directing, master class of Efim Dzigan. Graduated and get his master degree in 1982, with film "Island at Noon", based on a short story by J. Cortazar. Also appeared as an actor, in the film "Interrupted Serenade", with a famous Russian singer Muslim Magomayev and actress Svetlana Toma, directed by writer Maksud Ibragimbekov. As a film director, In 1986 made his first feature film "In vague conditions"(V usloviyakh neochevidnosti), about criminal investigation, screenplay by Ramiz Fataliyev. In 1987, at Transcaucasian Film Forum, the film was critically acclaimed by journal "Art of Cinema", as one of the best, for a stylistic decision - documentary style in feature film. In 1988 co-authored the script "Trade Winds". In 1989 left the USSR. Currently Mark Joseph residing in Canada, Quebec, Montreal. As in Canada, Mark Joseph wrote the feature film script "Delusion", studied and received a diploma as a graphic designer and video editor, filmed several commercials and promo videos for different companies. By working in TV channel RTVC, created a number of original programs. In last few years starts a pilot experimental documentary project "Basket of Dreams", which tells about the today's life of indigenous inhabitants of the planet in different corners. The first film, "Salado", was shot in the tropics of Peru, and was nominated for competition at Festival of Russian cinema "Window to Europe" in Viborg in the year 2015. At present Mark Joseph continues to work on next chapters of the "Basket of Dreams", as well co-writing feature film script.
