Martin W. Ziemer was born and raised in suburban Chicago,IL and since 1999 has made Lisle,IL. his home. A triple threat athlete while growing up, Martin excelled at baseball, basketball and football. A former DJ and entertainer Marty worked as Crew member, sales, producer & on-air talent in Radio both News/talk, Sports and Top 40 radio. He also worked for a number of Mobile entertainment companies from 1992-1999 doing weddings, parties, private corporate functions, as one of the top DJ's and entertainment Performers. Martin was a longtime musician as he played the saxophone, percussion as well as sang with various choirs and in recording studios doing singing and voice-overs for various projects and commerical ads for local radio stations and companies in the Chicago and various area markets while still in Radio back in 1990's. The Acting and performing "bug" was always in Marty (or "martay" as some of his friends call him) It just took 28 years for it to sink in that acting and entertaining is what he's best at and is one of his truest passions. Martin has always loved acting though discovering it by accident, very late - in his 20s, when he drove a friend to a local audition. At the audition he was told to try out himself for the film as they were taking anyone with talent or that "it" factor. Ziemer won one of the major roles of the film ( Urban Ground Squirrels 2002 for Wiggle Puppy Productions) After that great experience working on Urban ground Squirrels Martin got into an accident and had injuries requiring several surgeries and procedures to his face/mouth that took almost 18 months to properly heal. After the hiatus Ziemer auditioned for Writer/Director Willy Nast and Wiggle Puppy Productions (executive producer)and won a coveted supporting role in the dark comedy " Small Jobs" (2008) which reunited Ziemer with his UGS cast-mates Lamorne Morris (April Fools,Insanity & host for BET's new show "Hot Wyred"), Jason Christopher McNeil (Richard III (2008),The Negotiator,Chicago comedy Jam) and with WPP's Mark Krieglstein & Sara Yule. The shoot was very fast and tight as the budget was small but Marty recalls this as his greatest learning experience as an actor to date and having seen a very rough draft at the screening he feels this film will please movie audiences when the film gets its proper release in November 2008 on DVD/Video. October 2005-present, Marty runs a private detective and security agency in the chicagoland suburbs which provides private investigations, security and bodyguards for personal, private and corporations, movie sets, actors, professionals. Marty still auditions and had 2 small roles in early 2008 one of which was as an extra on the new Jerry O'Connell film 'Baby on Board' (2008). Marty continues to pursue acting and hopes to land more roles in the future. Marty is an avid animal and nature lover and donates his time and money to shelters and organizations that help and protect animal's and natural wildlife.
