Maurice Chatelain was a leading proponent of the Ancient Astronaut theory: the idea that the gods of our ancestors were based on real extraterrestrials who had visited the earth. Although he is usually identified as a "former NASA Chief of Communications," especially by UFOlogists, other sources claim he was merely "a low-level engineer who worked for a NASA sub-contractor."
