The critics wrote: "...A visual symphony, the camera floating dreamily through darkened streets, empty houses and over tranquil waters, shot throughout with moody blues and iridescent yellows, THE DAYS OF A MAN is suffused with the spirit of Andrei Tarkovsky, yet this inspired first feature by Yevgeny Pashkevich is the work of a strong new voice, as unique and disquieting as that of the late great Russian master."
