Arpita, a former journalist turned screenwriter made her feature writing debut with the multiple award-winning indie film Bheja Fry, starring Rajat Kapoor and Vinay Pathak. Her latest work has been a series for Amazon with Excel that will be shot next year. She has also completed a feature film for Pradeep Guha's Culture Company that will be shot in the beginning of 2020. She has written the short film Siblings for Bejoy Nambiar that was screened in a festival in New York this year. She has adapted the novel The Private Life of Mrs. Sharma as a screenplay for director Kanu Behl. She has collaborated with executive producer and writer Susan Jansen to adapt a concept for India. She was involved in the writing of Yeh Faasley, starring Anupam Kher and Seema Biswas. Arpita worked on a script called Prison Band and an international project, To Each His Stranger for director Bauddhyan Mukherji. She also wrote the screenplay for Char Log Kya Kahenge that won the NFDC Screenwriters Lab in 2014. She has written a screenplay for casting director Atul Mongia's film Never Have I Ever among other projects.
