Lance Khazei is an Emmy nominated writer, award winning producer, and festival acclaimed director. Lance has developed and written television comedy for Fox, ABC, Comedy Central, Disney, Dreamworks, MTV, Cartoon Network and NBC Studios. He has written late night and sketch for Bill Maher, John Leguizamo, Chevy Chase and Robin Williams among others and developed his own sketch show which received a six script commitment from NBC. Lance sold the first two original screenplays he ever penned, one to MGM and another to New Line. Khazei has written additional feature films for New Line, Columbia and Warner Brothers, working across both comedy and action genres. "NAMCAR Night Race," an independent comedy Lance wrote, directed and produced, screened in 2017 and 2018 to forty-five festival wins and honors worldwide, including multiple Audience Awards, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Comedy and Best Television Pilot awards. MovieMaker Magazine calls NAMCAR Night Race, "brilliant." The Mindfield Film Festival remarks, "If you're looking for what's next, look no further than ascendant filmmaker Lance Khazei," adding NAMCAR is "deliriously funny." New Filmmakers LA calls Lance a "passionate and ultra-talented writer director." Among a variety of new media projects for Fox, GQ and Conde Nast, Fox Digital hired Lance to write and direct a sports competition comedy for which he cast Rob Delaney of Amazon's Catastrophe. Khazei has also lent his craft to journalistic projects, political campaigns and causes. Serving as a senior advisor for Congressman Seth Moulton 2020, Lance wrote and directed the campaign's presidential launch video. Khazei was a founding producer of HuffPost Live, the pioneering video streaming news service. HuffPost Live was named Mashable's Best Media Innovation of 2012, earned a Webby Award in 2013 and Khazei was named a producer to watch in 2015 by Indie's UNITE. Khazei was a founding member of the non-profit Be The Change, assisting the effort in strategic communications. Lance graduated from Harvard with honors where he rowed varsity lightweight crew and was elected Vice President of the Harvard Lampoon. Before Lance's work in the entertainment industry, he worked for City Year, a domestic Peace Corps. Lance Khazei was raised in Bedford, New Hampshire. His father, a doctor, emigrated from Iran. His mother, a nurse, is the daughter of Italian immigrants.
