Randy Rhoads was an American guitarist and co-founder of Quiet Riot, later joining Ozzy Osbourne’s solo band for two albums. He blended classical guitar with heavy metal, pioneering neoclassical metal and iconic solos like “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley.” Rhoads received the “Best New Talent” award from Guitar Player magazine and was voted “Best Heavy Metal Guitarist” by UK readers of Sounds. His performances appeared on television and promotional videos, and his work influenced generations of guitarists. Rhoads died in a plane crash in 1982 and was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
