Kim Dempster has put her unique signature on numerous projects including commercials, music videos and narrative film. As both a writer and director, she has always been attracted to projects with a social conscience. At TEDx she spoke of the creative community's ability to incite change. Her short films, The Last Seduction and Danny Irvine Always Has a Good Time, screened at numerous film festivals and garnered rave reviews. In 2008 she directed Marmalade, a feature film produced by Goldheart Pictures. She wrote & directed, Stop The Nightmare, a series of short films about human trafficking. She then brought the atrocity of modern day slavery to the streets of New York with a series of live performances. In 2015 Kim turned her attention to writing, quickly gaining recognition. Blanche & The Alligator Man was a 2016-quarter finalist at the prestigious Academy Nicholl. The Color Of Mourning was a 2017-finalist for The Writers Lab. In 2018 both The Color of Mourning and No Gods- No Masters placed as semi-finalists at the Academy Nicholl. Kim enjoyed a successful career as a commercial director. She spent over two decades honing her visual skills while directing national and global campaigns around the world. Kim is a member of The Directors Guild of America, Women in Film & Television and Film Fatales. Today she lives between New York City and Shelter Island.
