Ursula Wendel is a writer for both TV and film with a background in TV development and production. In 2020, Ursula was invited to participate in Brian Grazer & Ron Howard's Imagine Impact Creative Network Platform, highlighting a select group of writers and their projects. Her drama pilot THE PEN was selected as Semifinalist in the 2018 Austin Film Festival and her feature screenplay THE ROBBER BRIDEGROOM was selected as Finalist in the 2018 WGAw Feature Writer Access Project. Her scripts have also placed finalist in the Women in Film/The Black List TV Episodic Lab and have twice won the WGAw TV Writer Access Project. Ursula earned her Master's Degree in history at the Sorbonne University in Paris, where she based her thesis on the wartime experiences of her grandfather in WWI. After several years living in France, Ursula relocated to the United States and began working in film and television production. A stint as a writer's assistant led to her first produced script on a David E. Kelley drama, then as a staff writer on network dramas. In addition to writing for TV and film , Ursula has worked in development at Mandy Films and in animation and comics at Matt Groening Productions. A dual US/Canadian citizen, Ursula is fluent in French and is a current subcommittee member of the WGAw Foreign Employment Task Force (FETF). She currently resides in Los Angeles.
