Johanna Silver

Johanna Lee Silver (nee Klein) was born in Saint Albert, Alberta Canada in June 1979. From an early age, Johanna displayed an interest in the performing and visual arts. She participated in school plays, and produced many skits and stories on any home video camera she could get her hands on. In 1998, Joey had the opportunity to work as an extra on set of Mystery Alaska filmed in Canmore Alberta. After a few years and small roles on stage and in independent films, Johanna completed a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Alberta with a minor in drama. Immediately after completing her degree requirements, she accepted a position teaching drama and English at a high school in Luton, Bedfordshire, England. Upon her return to Canada in 2007, Johanna became involved in the production of some small corporate video projects and finally took on her first producer role in The Boy Who Pees Fuel, a socio-political absurd satire. Although the short film was had limited success, it solidified her desire to take on more projects. In September 2011, she married Shane Silver. They have two children, Sullivan and Slater. Johanna resides in Morinville, Alberta where she enjoys photography and video production under the trade name Silverlight Studios.
