Miguel Ioann Littin Menz was born on May 2nd in Santiago, Chile. He moved to Mexico City with his family as a child where he lived for several years. He then moved to Madrid, Spain where he completed his education and attended the Film School. His works as a cinematographer have been featured and awarded in multiple prestigious film festivals such as Cannes, Venezia, Toronto, Sundance, and Camerimage. One of his last films, "The Vast of Night" directed by Andrew Patterson, was a success in the Toronto Film Festival, Slamdance film festival among others, winning several awards, including the Audience Award and The Cinematography Award at the Hamptons Film Festival. One of his prominent films, "Hands of Stone'', led by Robert De Niro and Edgar Ramirez, and directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz had a world premiere in the Official Selection of Cannes Film Festival. Miguel is also involved in J.Jakubowicz's new movie "Resistance" starring Jesse Eisenberg, who plays a young Marcel Marceau during World War II. The movie was filmed in Europe during the fall and will be released in 2020. Miguel has collaborated with director Andrés Wood in numerous movies like the outstanding "Machuca" (Cannes Film Festival) and "Violeta Went to Heaven" (Sundance Top Prize). He has also collaborated with successful filmmakers such as Academy Award Winner Sebastián Lelio, the Cannes Palme d'Or Winner Carlos Carrera, and many other Academy Award nominees like Susan Seidelman, Pedro Peirano, and Pablo Larraín. He has worked multiple times with his father, the worldwide lauded and two-time Academy Award and Palm d'Or Nominee, director, and writer Miguel Littin. Another work of his is the Canadian/Cuban film "A Translator" directed by Sebastian and Rodrigo Barriuso, led by Rodrigo Santoro. The film was part of the Official Competition at Sundance Film Festival. In addition to his feature work, Littin-Menz has shot TV series for the most prestigious channels such as HBO (Fugitives), NETFLIX, TNT (Echoes of The Desert), "Ramona:Ramona" (FIPA Top Prize Winner and Camerimage Nominee) as well as over 300 commercials for major global brands. As a director, he made two award-winning short films "Asphalt, Aimlessly" and "Volando Voy" that were featured in the Official Competition of the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival. His work experience includes filming in territories in the USA, Europe, Middle East, and Latin America. He currently lives in both Los Angeles, California, and Santiago, Chile.
