A compelling storyteller amongst the Black Voice experience, Jerry LaMothe is an award-winning writer/director/producer, born and raised in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. In 2020, the Haitian-American filmmaker made history by leading the first production in the U.S. (greenlit by SAG-AFTRA) to commence and complete production during the Covid-19 pandemic. Shot in Atlanta, Georgia and created/co-written/executive produced and directed by LaMothe, the result is the 6-part Limited Series Terror Lake Drive. The Psychological drama Stars Donielle T. Hansley, Shannon Kane, Lamman Rucker and Malik Yoba. Shot in an astounding 19 days, the hit series was released on Thanksgiving 2020, on AMC Network backed streaming service, allblk-which is available on Amazon Prime. In 2017 LaMothe directed the pilot (and following 2 episodes) to Bounce TV's first-ever scripted series, Saints and Sinners. The one-hour drama serves as Bounce TV's flagship show and most watched series in the network's history. Shortly afterwards, in 2018, LaMothe helmed the holiday TV movie, The Christmas Swap for TVOne In 2007, the ABC/DGA Directing Program finalist wrote, directed, and produced the indie classic, Blackout. The festival fave boasted an impressive cast which included: Jeffrey Wright, Zoe Saldana, Saul Rubinek, Jamie Hector, Susan Kelechi Watson, Melvin Van Peebles and Michael B. Jordan. Blackout premiered at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival. In May 2018, Jerry LaMothe received an Artists Grant from the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation for his screenplay The Promise Keeper. In 2021, LaMothe helmed the romance/comedy Sisterly Christmas. The female-led holiday feature, is set for release on Oprah Winfrey"s OWN network.
