(Abbreviated): German Michael Torres (GMT) has over 20 years experience as Producer, Development Executive, and Packager. He began his career at ICM, where he helped package such films as Proof Of Life (Meg Ryan, Russell Crowe), and Moulin Rouge (Nicole Kidman, Ewan Mcgregor) under literary legend, Patty Detroit. He went off to created and package his own award nominated series The Chronicle, with writer Silvio Horta for Syfy Channel, (22 episodes), which kicked off his producing and development success. He caught the attention of Peter Roth at Warner Bros. and was hired to run development for an innovative production division called Silverlight. Since, he's helped manage with Andrea Simon such writers as HBO Emmy nominated series Big Love creator Will Scheffer. He's developed and produced a Julia Roberts Pilot for Lifetime/ABC Studios, More of Me w/Molly Shannon for Lifetime/Howard Braunstein, a true crime project with Dwayne Johnson for 2C 7 Bucks Entertainment, and more. He produced the Netflix trending hit, Truth or Dare, and SyFy Channel's Karma. His first unscripted series From Beyond sold to NBC Universal, and was picked up for 13 episodes. On a personal note, he created Life With Girls, a pilot based on his life for CBS and is re-developing for 2019. Other films include Kill Chain a noir thriller starring Nicolas Cage on Amazon, and is producing a Christmas romantic comedy with a Latino twist for Netflix. He has a slate of films with A-list writers and talent, such Amends, a comedy starring Alec Baldwin. He came up in the business and learning from the best producers in Hollywood such as Denise DiNovi (Batman 2, Edward Scissorhands) whom he worked for three years on such hits as Little Women, Ed Wood, and James and The Giant Peach. Some of the clients he served as a literary rep were Tony Gilroy (Bourne Legacy, House of Cards, Michael Clayton), Adam Davidson (True Blood, Entourage), Craig Pearce (Moulin Rouge, The Great Gatsby), Nikki Toscano (24 Legacy, Shades of Blue), Dustin Hoffman, Anjelica Huston, and more. In 2001, in response to the lack of diversity within Hollywood, he founded Professional Latinos In Entertainment (PLIE) a non-profit dedicated to helping Latinos make it in the entertainment industry and promoting diversity within the Hollywood and global communities. Some of their sponsors included Anheuser Busch, Coca-Cola, ICM, CAA, Disney, and others. The Last White Dishwasher starring Carlos Alazraqui (Reno 911) a social satire about a dishwasher and taking pride in a hard days work, was part of PLIE's Filmmaker Discovery Program that gave an up and coming filmmaker an opportunity to direct. He is a member of the Producers Guild of America and The Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. GMT continues to create and produce high-concept material with heart. He has a B.A. in Psychology and minor in Religion from CA State University, Northridge/Ashford University.
