Charles Albert Jr.

In "Sunshine State," Reverend Sutcliff was portrayed by The Honorable Charles L. Albert Jr., former mayor of Fernandina Beach (Amelia Island), Florida 32034. His tenure began on the Fernandina Beach City Commission in 1978. He was elected in 1981 as the city's First Black Mayor of the Island. He is a 3-term mayor whose tenure on the City Commission ended in 1996. At the time of his appearance in this (2002) movie, Mr. Albert was a 30-year retired middle school educator of Math, Biology, Chemistry, and Science. Charles Albert Jr. is a Florida A&M University Rattler Alumni, and a Historic Peck High, Class of 1949 Alumni (Fernandina Beach).
