Mea Dols de Jong is a director and actress. Mea Dols de Jong (1988) is one of Netherlands' leading young documentary makers, recognized by Variety magazine as one of the top Ten Filmmakers to watch in Europe and by NRC as one of the top 100 most important international artists from the Netherlands. Her films have won 27 international festival awards. Mea's work features human interest stories touching on broader political issues. Always thinking cross generational, her work often shows how the personal is also political. In 2019 she was granted a Harvard Nieman Fellowship. As an actress she is know for her role as Merel in Gooische Vrouwen, Fogbound, VPRO youth series.
