Vansay is a Laotian-American filmmaker. A self-taught filmmaker and solely based on passion, he Wrote, Produced and Funded his first movie, "Color Blind." It was the official selection at the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF-LA), and nominated for Best Feature at the Jamaican Film & Music Festival in Kingston, Jamaica. It received a Premier Special Invitation in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The film was shown on Netflix and has been distributed on DVD around the world. The message of the film was powerful and caught the attention of School Districts around the country where it was shown to students as part of various curriculum in a classroom environment. This experienced was the 'Film School' he never had, and he has never looked back. Vansay's Directorial debut short film, "The Breakdown on Highway 7," which won thirteen awards in the festival circuit around the world, including Best Director. This prepared him to direct his first feature film, "Soul Custody," starring Clifton Powell, (All Eyez On Me, Ray). The film has been praised by industry professionals and audiences alike. It also earned him his first Producer Guild of America, Producer's Mark. Vansay is currently in pre-production on his second feature, 'Yellow Peril', a social horror, thriller, produced by Wendy Benge. With over 20 years in the Banking Industry and in real estate combined, Vansay has applied and extended this knowledge into the world of independent film financing in various ways of acquiring funding for his movies. He has managed and oversaw over $300 million fund portfolio in the banking industry. With a combined knowledge of business and creative film making, Vansay has gained long term support from the government official in New Brunswick, Canada and was appointed an Honorary "New Brunswick Ambassador" by the Premier of this Maritime. Province due to bringing the US Film Industry to the Province.
