Aleks wrote her first book at the age of seven and has been writing ever since. After graduating from the University of Texas, Austin (BS in Radio/TV/Film) she worked for a local PBS station and the local CBS affiliate. After writing her first novel, she moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a pitch writer and development consultant for the William Morris Agency and took a position as a Development Executive for Finnegan Pinchuck Productions before landing at Paramount Pictures as an executive for the International department. At Paramount she planned international strategy for motion pictures such as Mission Impossible, Forrest Gump, and The Saint, among many others, along with both the television and theatrical Star Trek franchise. This position involved worldwide travel, direct negotiation of international deals, promotions and special events, interfacing with thirty agents and distributors in forty-four worldwide territories. After five years as a Paramount executive, she founded her own production company and wrote and Produced the feature film, The Inner Circle. The Inner Circle was featured on England's Hallmark Hall of Fame and sold exceptionally well in Europe, Austraila, New Zealand and Canada. In July 2009, The Inner Circle won the Exceptional Merit in Media Award. The EMMA's were created by the NWPC to honor and reward outstanding material in radio, television, print and the internet that inform and educate the public about critical issues that impact women's lives. In 2018, Aleks wrote and produced a short film, Hotel, which is currently making the festival circuit and has already won for Best Original Concept in the Independent Horror Movie Awards. Over the course of her career Aleks has written novels and screenplays that have been optioned and produced. Three of her novels are available in various markets with another in the works.
