Keith Morrison was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan in the 1947. He attended the University of Saskatchewan where he earned his bachelor's degree in history in 1966. Keith started his career in journalism in 1966 as a reporter for The Star Phoenix in Saskatoon. From there held a number of television anchor and reporting positions across Canada at CFTO-TV, Toronto; CHAN-TV (now BCTV), Vancouver; and CFQC, Saskatoon. He was also news anchor for "Canada A.M.," and a national news-and-information television program produced by CTV. From December 1973 to January 1975. Keith held several positions as a mid-Canada correspondent for CTV News from January 1975 to February 1976. He then served as anchor and reporter for CTV News from February 1976 to July 1979, became national affairs correspondent and anchor for CTV News from July 1979 to June 1982. Morrison held a variety of correspondent and anchor positions with the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) from 1982 to 1986, and was a correspondent and anchor for CBC's "The Journal," a nightly news and current affairs program from November 1984 to July 1985. He was instrumental in the development of "Midday," the network's first daytime news and interview program. In 1986 Keith was hired as a NBC News Correspondent, based in Los Angeles. Keith has covered a wide range of breaking news stories on the West Coast and in Asia. Morrison was reporting from China in May and June 1989 when the student rebellion in Beijing and the Chinese military reaction occurred. He is married to Suzanne Perry Morrison, a writer, consultant and, political fundraiser who was also press secretary to then Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Through marriage, he became stepfather to "Friends" star Matthew Perry.
