Andrzej Szczytko was born on October 9, 1955 in Grajewo, Podlaskie, Poland. He is an actor, known for Pogranicze w ogniu (1988), Zelazna reka (1989), Poznan '56 (1996), Ogniem i mieczem (1999), Duza przerwa (2000) and Tajemnica twierdzy szyfrow (2007) . He is also a theatre director, translator and Professor of Drama. Szczytko is a graduate of the Leon Schiller National Film School in Lodz (1978), he also attended to Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University (1980). Since 2012 he has been working as guest director in the Taras Shevchenko Academic Drama Theatre in Kharkiv, also known as Berezil Theatre. His recent stage productions - "Farewell Judas" by Iredynski (Ukraine, 2013), "Antigone in New York" by Glowacki (Ukraine, 2014) - gained the reputation of a political theatre.
