“I love stories. I'm sure they allow us to know ourselves better.” Marta Bayarri is a Spanish actress, author, and director. She began her career at the Círcol Catòlic, a cultural entity in Badalona, participating in several plays. She is known for her performances in TV3 series, such as El cor de la ciutat (2000) and La Riera (2010). Parallel to her work as an actress, in 2010, she began her path in film production and trained in dramaturgy and screenwriting. In 2014, together with Oriol Ruiz, she founded the production company Momotrup Films and premiered her first short film Una nit (2014), which received the Critics Awards for Best First Film at the 2016 Ibero-American Festival of Short films ABC. Subsequently, she directed two other Goya-nominated shorts, Fugit (2016) and Vaca (2018), the latter starring herself. She also stars in the short film Cocodrilo (2019) by director Jorge Yúdice.
