Born in the Brooklyn in New York City. Grew up in Florida, and overcame her families blue collar history by being the first female in her family to attend college at the University of Florida where she was first in her class, summa cum laude, with a degree in math. She earned two masters degrees at University of Massachusetts and taught at Smith College and UMass. She taught math for several years while working her way through law school at Western New England College. After being an entertainment attorney for several years, representing the Beach Boys and Chicago, she began a career as a District Attorney. She became well known for her famous and prominent cases against pedophiles involving the owner of Schlitz beer who was sentence to 365 years for raping children. She prosecuted the children who copy-catted the murders from the movie "Scream." She's spoken in front of Congress about women's rights, particularly in professional sports. She helped to establish the 1-strike law in California which sentences rapists to life, and was a member of Stuart House, the best rape treatment and prosecuting center in all of the U.S. stationed in Santa Monica. There have been 3 films in production for USA television focusing on her life and the issues she had to deal with through these cases, while being a full time wife and Mother of two children. Her most current appearance was on January 30th, 2014 in Killer Kids. All of this was accomplished while she prosecuted more than 700 jury trials.
