María Lara is a recognized actress, born to Gustavo Salazar, a retired Captain of Colombian National Army, and Olga Lara. Maria received her degree in Industrial Engineering. After representing her state in the National Beauty Pageant, she settled in the capital of the country to start her studies as an actress. She began her artistic career with the soap opera "MARIA MADRUGADA", and received a nomination as a "Revelation Actress" in the TV and Novelas Award Colombia 2001. Her career is now spanning 25 years, and includes working as a model, in TV, commercials, theater, print work, runway modeling, soap operas, and hosting live events. She was the lead actress in the TV series called EMERALD, and can be seen in such productions such as AMOR MENTIRAS Y VIDEO, TIEMPO FINAL, LA TRAICION, NADIE ES ETERNO EN EL MUNDO, LA EX, LA TORMENTA, LA SAGA, among many others. Considered one of the most 50 beautiful artists in Colombia, two of the productions in which she has participated have had the highest rating in the history of the TV. In Colombia, "EL CAPO" and "GREY'S ANATOMYy" LATAM ("A CORAZON ABIERTO"), has reached the highest rating of all time within the country. María has also participated in more than 25 TV productions in Colombia. These productions have been seen in more than sixteen countries including Latin America, the United States, Spain and incredibly in far east locations such as China, Russia, Israel, Romania, Slovenia to name a few. Maria Lara hosts an artistic show / seminar with a message on how to achieve happiness. The show that has been seen by more than 200,000 people in seven countries across Latin America, including governments, business companies, gangs, local military, and police. She has received more than 150 awards for her humanitarian efforts. Maria currently resides in Los Angeles, CA as she continues to build up her career and make a positive impact on the world.
