Akash Adhikari

Akash Adhikari (born January 5, 1970) is renowned actor and director who has created a strong and dignified presence in Nepalese film Industry. He has released 19 feature film successfully in Nepal and abroad. As a filmmaker, Akash had a glorious debut in the industry - winning the Best Director & best movie Award with his first movie 'Ranabhoomi' 1998. Since then, he has act and directed many acclaimed movies, including hits like Panchhi (2001), Daag (2001), The Anger (2006), Shasan, Kathmandu (2011), Kohinoor (2014) and Kanchhi (2018). Akash Adhikari was honored with prestigious "DADASAHEB PHALKE FILMFOUNDATION AWARDS 2023", for the Best Actor/Director. Actor, director and producer Akash Adhikari was presented the "Multi-Disciplinary in Cinema Industry of the year-2021"-National Professional Achievement Award-2021 by Season Media. Birat Film and Music Award-2021 presented him with Best Director (Jury) Award of the Year for his Musical Drama "Mayama Irsyako Najar". Mr. Akash Adhikari got rewarded for his endless efforts in the Nepali movie industry marking his silver jubilee (25 years) in the field. He received "Prawal Jana Sewa Padak-2019" award from Honorable President Bidhya Devi Bhandari. In 2013, Akash Adhikari was awarded Best Director and his movie Kathmandu (2011) acclaimed best Movie, by NEFTA Film Award. His movie Kathmandu (2011) received many more awards, like Best Supporting Actress of the Year, Best Debut Actress of the Year. In the year 2008, Akash Adhikari had earned "Best Actor of the year- 2008 ". Akash Adhikari had received National Film Award for Movie: Janayuddha (2008) from Film Development Board Govt of Nepal, the award was presented by Honorable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Akash is regularly involved in social activities, his social engagements include: 1. Youth Ambassador for Peace by "Youth Federation for World Peace" ( 2007). 2. Patron Member of "Nepal Ambulance Service". 3. President, "Flame of Hope Nepal" ( Non profitable NGO). 4. International Co-Ordinator, "Shahid Smriti Community Hospital Development Center".
