Matthew Murray graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts with a major in film and television production and a double minor in theatre studies and dramatic literature. He received his actor's training at Shakespeare & Co in Lenox, Ma and NY's American Globe Theatre. Previous regional stage credits include roles in The Winter's Tale (Autolycus) and Romeo & Juliet at Shakespeare & Co. New York Stage credits include Off-Off-Broadway productions of A Midsummer Night's Dream (Bottom), As You Like it (Frederick/Martext/Lord/2 Brother), I Hate Hamlet Gary Peter Lefkowitz), Monster Island (Joel Singer), and The Contrast (Jessamy). He provided various voices for the video game Grand Theft Auto III. In 2005 he was elected to the executive board of New York's Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, where among other projects, he curated the popular "Saturday Morning: Art and Artifacts from a Golden Age of Television" and organized the lecture event/series "1986: The Year That Changed Comics." In 2007 he was named the third president and hired as the first executive director in the organization's history.
