Manuel Toharia studied at both French and Spanish in the Liceo Francés of Madrid's high school. He studied Physics (specializing in Astrophysics) in the Universidad Complutense of Madrid. From 1969 he has been journalist and scientist working in radio, TV, newspaper and interactive museums. Between 1970-1979 he was the science editor of the newspaper "Informaciones" in Madrid. Since 1980 he has director and hosted some scientific programs. He was the science editor of newspaper "El País" between 1980-1981. He collaborated in the premiere of the "Muy Interesante" magazine, and he was founder of the magazine "Conocer" (1983). He has worked in various radio programs for the SER network for the next 20 years. He is a regular lecturer all over Spain, doing a hundred appearances each year. He is also a professor in the Spanish Energy Institute. He directed the Interactive Museum of Science in Madrid from 1996 to 1997, and also directed the Fundación La Caixa Science Museum until October 1999. At present times he is director of the Principe Felipe Science Museum in Valencia.
